Long Lasting Driveways

Considering re-paving your driveway or looking for a concrete company to do your new driveway?

Byler’s Concrete is your source for quality concrete driveway work, smooth finishes, and attention to detail that will contribute to a lasting, functional space for years to come.

We’re quite particular about our concrete work. For instance, did you know that overworking concrete during the curing process contributes to a less durable final surface? It’s true, and we take great care in proper concrete finishing to make your driveway last – in many cases, 30 years or more.

Why Choose Concrete For Your Driveway?

When it comes to a new or refinished driveway, homeowners often have questions about what surface to choose? In our view, concrete is the best option out there.

Here’s what to know about choosing a concrete driveway…

The Benefits of a Concrete Driveway

Durability

A concrete driveway is extremely durable and will last longer than just about any substance out there. It can withstand heavy loads and is not easily damaged by the elements. When cured properly and installed by an experienced professional, concrete can last for decades with minimal to no maintenance. We include rebar substructure in all of our concrete driveways for improved longevity.

Low Maintenance

A concrete driveway requires less maintenance than every other type of driveway. It’s easy to sweep and keep clean, and it does not require regular repairs, sealing, or replacement.

Cost-Effective

A concrete driveway is cost-effective compared to other types of driveways. While it may cost more upfront than other options, it generally pays for itself quickly given its low maintenance and lack of necessary upkeep compared to alternatives.

Aesthetics

A concrete driveway adds an upscale and elegant look to the exterior of your home, improving the curb appeal of your home and even improving your property value! It can also be customized with different colors, designs, and textures, called stamping, for an even more sophisticated look.

Safety

A concrete driveway provides a safe and secure surface for you and your family that’s even conducive to entertaining! It’s slip-resistant and can provide a great place for sports, biking, roller-skating, and chalk drawings. Your kids will thank you!

Byler’s Is Your Concrete Driveway Company: Our Process

First, the area to be paved must be excavated to a depth of 2-6” and any existing vegetation or debris must be removed. The soil must be leveled and compacted depending on the solidness of the base.

We begin by adding a sub-base material, in which a 1-6” layer of gravel, crushed rock, or other aggregate is spread over the prepared site and compacted as needed.

We install temporary wood or metal forms around the edges of the driveway to contain the concrete once poured. Rebar is laid throughout the planned driveway to improve durability and reduce cracking or fragmenting over time.

The concrete is poured and leveled to the desired thickness, usually 4-5 inches and sometimes 6+ inches for heavy equipment. The surface of the concrete can be left smooth or finished with a broom, stamping, or other textured finish. The concrete must then be allowed to cure for a minimum of 14 days before it can be used.
